MA Health Management
Overview
The Master’s degree in Health Management, is a full-time course of one and a half years that provides a multi-disciplinary, critically analytical and practice-based approach to the main challenges and issues in management, planning and policy which face the providers of health and health-related services in Europe.
Aims
The program provides an international learning environment, with staff and students drawn from many countries and a variety of professional backgrounds enabling students to learn from collective professional and cultural experiences. Develops students’ ability to think analytically, develops capacity for independent learning and encourages a reflective approach to learning. It provides a multidisciplinary, critically analytical and practice-based approach to the main challenges and issues in management, planning and policy which face the providers of health and health-related services in developing and emerging countries. The program teaches the essential skills required to improve existing or build new health services, programs and related management systems to improve the public health of the communities in which the students work. Finally, it gives emphasis on descriptive epidemiology and statistics and public health interventions.
Duration
This course runs for two years (120 ECTS Credits).
Admission Requirements
Accredited Bachelor or Master Degree in any relevant field.
Examination, Assessment & Grading
This course is assessed in a variety of ways depending on the subject and lecturer. Assessment includes oral and written exams, written assignments and projects. In order to graduate students, need to undertake the final State exam. Grades are awarded according to the following scheme:
- Excellent 5.50-6.00
- Very good 4.50-5.49
- Good 3.50-4.49
- Fair 3.00-3.49
- Fair 2.00
