EDUCATION AND
TECHNOLOGY:
AN INTERESTING
RELATIONSHIP
The use of technology in education has
abolished educational boundaries. Alice
Armstrong in Education Digest (2014)
claims that “…technology is transforming
students into explorers and teachers into
guides.” Technology can be used in a
traditional way, for example as a medium
of instruction or in a constructive way, as
partners in the learning process. In any
case, integrating technology in the
teaching-learning process makes
students more interested in obtaining
new knowledge, since they tend to find
the old methods unattractive.
The integration of technology in
education is beneficial for both the
student and the instructor in different
ways. First of all, it offers convenience,
and ease of access to and use of
educational resources to the teacher and
the learner. Additionally, it enhances the
participants’ creativity and retention of
knowledge in a money- and time-saving
way. Then, it extends classroom
communities. People enrolled in a
subject can communicate, share views
and form closer relationships due to the
use of technology.
